area of triangle is ½×height ×base

 \frac{1}{2}  \times h \times 15  = 87 \\  \\ h \times 7.5 = 87 \\  \\ h =  \frac{87}{7.5}  \\   \\ h = 11.6

Answer:

Height is 11.6 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Area of the right angled triangle = 1/2 base x height.   Area is 87 cm² while base is 15cm

87 = 1/2  x 15 x height

i.e. 87 x2 /15 = height   which implies   height = 174/15  => 11.6 cm
