if the Base of a parallelogram is(y+8), altitude to the Base is (y-6) and the area is(ysq. - 8) Find the actual area of the parallelogram​

Area of parallelogram = base × height = (y+8)(y-6)

=y sq. +2y -48

Area of parallelogram = y sq. -8

Hence y sq. + 2y - 48 = y sq. -8

2y = 40

y = 20

Area of parallelogram = 20 sq. - 8 = 400 - 8 = 392
