by Pythagoras theorem

 {10}^{2}   =  {6}^{2}  +  {x}^{2} (height = x) \\ 100 - 36 =  {x}^{2}  \\ x =  \sqrt{64}  \\ x = 8 = height

now

area =1/2×base×height

area=1/2×6×8

area=24 sq.units
