Given:

  • The biggest hand of a clock is 15 cm long.

To Find:

  • Distance covered by it in 40 minutes will be ?

Solution:

It is given that,

The biggest hand of a clock is = r = 15 cm.

In a clock round there are 12 hours × 60 miuntes = 720 minutes

Now, 40 minutes = 1/18th part of it (40/720)

In total circumference of clock it covers 1/18th part of it (40/720)

The distance covered =

 \sf \: \frac{1}{18} \times (2\pi \times r) \\ \\ \sf= \frac{3.14 \times 15}{9} = 5.23cm
