Explanation:

A) as the wires are connected in parallel direction, the force exerted will be same on them. so in this case the breaking of wire = F

b) if the wire has double thickness, than the breaking of wire depends on the material of which it is made up of. so stress = restoring force/ area of cross section 

the breaking force will be doubled if the thickness is doubled
