If the center of the circle with radius of 5 cm is 1 cm away from the center, what is the length of the chord?​

Let r be the radius of the circle

r^2=1^2+(6/2)^2=10

r=(10)^1/2

Let the length of the cord which is 2cm away be p cm.

r^2=2^2+(p/2)^2

10=4+(p/2)^2

6^1/2=p/2

p=2(6)^1/2
