If the centre and radius of circle is (3,4) and 7 units respectively,then what is the position of the point A (5,8) with respect to circle ?

I cant solve it out because it is too lengthy.

But I can tell you the technique to solve it

First determine the equation of the circle by using

(x-h)^2 + (y-2)^2 = a^2 where h,k are the coordinates of the center and a is the radius of the circle.

You'll get the equation in x and y form.

Now replace x and y with the point (5,8) and check that:

If the result is greater than zero then the point will lie outside the circle.

If the result is equal to zero then the point will lie on the circle.

If the result is lesser than zero then the point will lie inside the circle.
