Answer:

Hey there

(x1 - x)(x2 - x) + (y1 - y)(y2 - y) = 0

(4 - 3)(2 - 3) + (7 - 5)(y - 5) = 0

- 1 + 2y - 10 = 0

2y = 11

y = 11/2

hope it helps you

The value of y is 3

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : (3,5) is the center of a circle and the points of diameter is P(4,7) and Q(2,y)

Now Let (x,y)=(3,5) \text { , } (x_1,y_1) = (4,7) \text { and } (x_2,y_2)= (2,y)

Now center is the mid point of diameter

therefore by mid point formula

(x,y)=(\dfrac{x_1+x_2}{2} ,\dfrac{y_1+y_2}{2} )\\\\\Rightarrow \\(3,5)=(\dfrac{4+2}{2}, \dfrac{7+y}{2})

Comparing the values of y we get

5=\dfrac{7+y}{2}

10 = 7+y

y= 10-7

y=3

Hence the value of y is 3
