Answer:

Circumference of circle = Perimeter of square

Question:-

Circumfernce of a circle and perimeter of a square are equal. The circumference of the circle is 88 cm. Find the area of the square.

Solution:-

2πr = 4s

88 = 4s

88/4 = s

22 = s

Area of square = (s)²

= (22)²

= 464 cm²

The area of the square is 464 cm².

More information:-

Suppose by chance they had asked us to calculate the area of the circle. Then what would we do?! It’s quite easy.

Circumference of circle = 88 cm

2πr = 88

2 × 22/7 × r = 88

r = 88 × 7/2 × 22

r = 4 × 7/2

r = 2 × 7

r = 14 cm

Area of circle = πr²

= 22/7 × 14 × 14

= 22 × 2 × 14

= 44 × 14

= 516 cm²

The area of circle would be 616 cm²

Hope it helps
