If the circumference of a circle is 220cm square .find the are of square inscribed In it

Solution :

Let the radius of the circle = r cm

Circumference of the circle = 220cm

=> 2πr = 220

=> 2 × ( 22/7 ) × r = 220

=> r = ( 220 × 7 )/( 2 × 22 )

=> r = 35 cm

Now ,

If square is inscribed in the circle ,

then ,

diagonal of the square ( d ) is equal

to diameter of the circle

=> d = 2r

=> d = 2 × 35

d = 70 cm

Therefore ,

Area of the square = d²/2

= ( 70 )²/2

= ( 70 × 70 )/2

= 4900/2

= 2450 cm²
