Given :

  • Common difference (d) = 2

To find :

  • a₁₀ - a₅

Solution :

We know that ,

\sf a_{n} \: = \: a \: + \: (n-1)d

Where ,

  • n = number of term
  • a = first term
  • d = common difference

\sf a_{10} \: = \: a \: + \: (10-1)d\\ \sf \implies a_{10} \: = \: a \: + \: 9d

Also,

\sf a_{5} \: = \: a \: + \: (5 - 11)d\\ \sf \implies a_{5} \: = \: a \: + \: 4d

Now , putting values in a₁₀ - a₅

We get,

a₁₀ - a₅ = [ a+9d ] - [ a+4d]

a₁₀ - a₅ = a + 9d - a - 4d

a₁₀ - a₅ = 5d

a₁₀ - a₅ = 5×(2)

a₁₀ - a₅ = 10

ANSWER = 10
