If the complement of an angle is equal to the supplement of thrice of it find the measure of the angle

let x is the measure angle
then it's compliment angle is (90- x)
and it's supplementary angle is (180-x)
now
3(90-x) = (180-x)
or, 270- 3x = 180- x
or, 270-180 = 3x -x
or, 90 = 2x
or x =90/2 = 45°

Measure of angle X is 45 degrees that means the complementary is 90 – 45 = 45 and the supplementary is 180 – 45 = 135.  

Solution:

Let us take the angle as X, so it’s thrice be 3X.

Complement of angle X = Thrice of its supplementary i.e., 3X

If two adjacent angles forming angle 90 known as complementary and if it is 180 then it is known as supplementary.

Therefore, equating the values we get

90 – X = 180–3X

3X - X = 180 – 90

2X = 90

X = 45
