let x is the measure angle

then it's compliment angle is (90- x)

and it's supplementary angle is (180-x)

now

3(90-x) = (180-x)

or, 270- 3x = 180- x

or, 270-180 = 3x -x

or, 90 = 2x

or x =90/2 = 45°
