Answer:

What is the cost of 100 grams of rice if 1kg of rice is Rs. 160?

100 gm is basically 10% of 1kg.

Soo if 1kg is 160 ₹ 100gm will be 16₹. Simply divide by 10.

If 1 kg of mutton is 500 Rs, how much is 700 grams?

1 Kg = 1000g

1Kg (1000g ) mutton for = 500₹

•°• 1g mutton = (500/1000 )₹

So, 700g mutton = (500/1000)× 700 ₹

= 350₹

Hence, 700g mutton will be of 350 ₹.

This method is step wise in case you're writing an exam, where we get marks for steps.

In case you're doing mental maths ..

If 1000g is for 500₹ ( half the numerical value)

so, 700g will also be half of its numerical value.. that is 350₹.

But way of solving these type of question is only if you know the relation between LHS and RHS and also the conversions , so the different units of measurement are brought about together of the same denomination.

Hope you understood what I wanted to convey. All the best !
