1kg- Rs 4.5

x kg- Rs 100

x = 100\ 4.5

let the quantity of rice purchased be x kgs.

Now A/Q

1kg of rice=4.5rupees

and

x kgs of rice= 100(given)

therefore x=100/4.5 (in order to get the quantity of rice)

x=1000/45(removed decimal)

x=22.22kgs

so the rice purchased in 100rupees is 22.22kgs.

hope this helps you
