1) Cost of 7 kg potatoes = 84

cost of 1 potato = 84/7 = 12 Rs .

No of potatoes = total cost /Cost of one potato

no of potatoes = 178.50/12 = 14.8

Approximately 15 potatoes can be brought for rs 178.50 Rs

2)

Cost of 1 potato = 12rs

cost of 12.5 potatoes = 12.5 * 12 = 150rs

Answer = 150 Rs costs for 12.5 Kg potatoes.

To find out,

1. The weight of potatoes bought for Rs.178.50.

According to the question,

For 7kg potatoes.......84.Rs

then for how many potatoes(X)?........ 178.50Rs

Let the number of kilos of potatoes bought for Rs.178.50 be 'X'.

Now by cross multiplication,

 \frac{178.50  \times 7}{84}

 \frac{1249.5}{84}

14.875

Therefore the weight of potatoes bought for Rs.178.50 is 14.875kg.

2.The cost of 12.5 kg potatoes.

According to the question,

For 7 kg potatoes..........Rs.84

Then,for 12.5kg potatoes......(X)?

Let the cost for 12.5 kg of potatoes be X.

Now by cross multiplication,

x =  \frac{12.5 \times 84}{7}

x =  \frac{1050}{7}

x = 150

Therefore the cost of 12.5kg of potatoes is 150Rs.
