Answer:

let the cost of one dozen bananas is C 8and can get d dozen of Bananas for 840 rupees .

Hence cd= 840

D =840 c

and ( c+1) ( d-2) = 840

(C+1) (840c- 2) = 840

( c+1) ( 840- 2c) = 840

840c+ 840 -c 2-2- 2c= 840

c2+ c - 420= 0

c2+ 21c - 20c - 420 = 0

c+21(c-20) = 0

c= 20, - 21

So the ANSWER is 20 .
