total cost is 4600

let the cost of horse be 'x'

let the cost of cart be '4600-x'

According to the question:

4600-x=1/3× 'x'

4600-x= x/3

13800-3x=x

13800=x+3x

13800=4x

x=13800/4

x=3450

This means the cost of horse is 3450 rupees

vasav1803: (4600-x) ×3=x
vasav1803: 4600×3 - x×3=x
vasav1803: 13800-3x=x
vasav1803: 13800=x+3x
vasav1803: 13800=4x
vasav1803: 13800/4 = x
vasav1803: x= 3450
