Current Price=42

therefore an increment of Rs 2 happened in the price of 1 kg sugar

so we've to find what % of 40 is 2

by using

$\frac{2}{40} \times 100 \\ \frac{2}{4} \times 10 \\ \frac{20}{4} \\ = 5$

therefore the increment was of 5%
