Answer :-

Given :-

  • cost of 1 kg potatoes = 40 Rs
  • Rani bought 3 ½ kg potatoes
  • She gave 200 Rs note to the shop keeper.

To find :-

How much money she gets back = ?

Solution :-

If the cost of potato is 40 Rs

So , 1Kg of potatoes = 40 Rs

Rani bought 3 ½ kg of potatoes

So , 3 kg of potatoes

 = 3 \times 40 \: Rs

 = 120 \: Rs

Now , ½ kg of potatoes

 = \frac{1}{2} \times 40 \: Rs

 = 20 \: Rs

So , total amount

 = 120 + 20

 = 140 \: Rs

She gave 200 Rs to Shopkeeper so ,

 = 200 - 140

 = 60 \: Rs

She gets 60 Rs back
