The breadth of the plot is 15 m If the cost of tiling a rectangular plot 30 m long at the rate of Rs. 10 per square meter is Rs. 4500

Given:

  • The cost of tiling a rectangular plot 30 m long at the rate of Rs. 10 per square meter is Rs. 4500

To Find:

  • The breadth of this plot.

Solution:

  • Area of  a rectangle = length x breadth

Step 1:

Divide  total cost by rate per square meter  to find area

Area = 4500/10

Area = 450  m²

Step 2:

Use formula for area of a rectangle  and substitute Area = 450 m² and Length = 30 m and calculate breadth

Area = 4500/10

450 = 30 x Breadth

15 = Breadth    ( Divide both sides by 30)

Hence, the breadth of the plot is 15 m
