Let the cost of each chair be x.
Let the sp of each chair be y.
Now
10x = 16y.
x = 16y/10 = 8y/5
As Sp is less than cp so there is loss.
So
Loss % is CP-SP/CP * 100
Cp is x = 8y/5 and Sp = y
Loss is 8y/5-y / 8y/5 * 100 = 37.5%.
So there is a loss of 37.5%
Hope it helps......

C. P. of 10 chairs = S. P. of 16 chairs
Now,
Gain = S. P. - C. P.
=> Gain = 16 - 10
=> Gain = 6
Then,
Gain % = Gain / C. P. * 100
=> Gain% = 6 / 10 * 100
=> Gain % = 6*10
=> Gain % = 60%.....
Hope it helps u.......
