Answer:

the speed of the light is 1.5 × 10^8, if the critical angle is 30 degree

Explanation:

using formula of critical angle

sin C = 1 / n ..................... where as C is critical angle and n is refractive index of that medium

sin 30 degree = 1 / n

1 / 2 = 1 / n .............sin 30 =1/2

so,

n = 2 ........... eq1

now using the formula ,

as n1 / n2 = c / v .......... where as n1 is speed of light in the medium, n2 is speed of light in air , here c is speed of light in air and v is speed of light in medium .

from eq1 ,

n1 = 2

therefore,

2 / 1 = 3 × 10^8 / v

v = 1.5 × 10^8.

therefore answer is 1.5 × 10^8
