let the radius= r
h= 5cm
pie= 3.14
CSA of cylinder=94.2
So, CSA of cylinder :- 2 pie r h
                                   2*3.14*r*5=94.2
                               r= 94.2/2*3.14*5
                               r= 3cm
now, Volume of cylinder:-pie r^2 h
 r=3cm
 h=5cm
                                       = 3.14*3^2*5
                                       = 141.3 cm3

Given : The curved surface area of a cylinder is 94.2 cm² and height is 5 cm

To find : The radius of the base and volume of the cylinder.

Solution :

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process. (our goal is to calculate the radius of the base and the volume of the given cylinder)

Let, the radius of the base = r cm

So, the curved surface area will be :

= 2 × π × radius × height

= 2 × π × r × 5

= 10πr cm²

According to the data mentioned in the question,

10πr = 94.2

πr = 94.2/10

πr = 9.42

3.14 × r = 9.42

r = 9.42/3.14

r = 3

So, the radius of the base = 3 cm

Now, the volume of the cylinder :

= π × (radius)² × height

= 3.14 × (3)² × 5

= 141.3 cm³

Hence, the radius of the base is 3 cm and the volume of the cylinder is 141.3 cm³.
