and then the diagonal is Hypotenuse and if Hypotenuse is 10 cm then we can find the length

according to Pythagoras theorem

(Hypotenuse)² = (base)² + (perpendicular)²

(10)² = (base)² + (6)²

100 - 36 = (base)²

64 = (base)²

8 = base

thus the length is 8 cm

area of the rectangle is length × breadth

area of rectangle = 6 cm × 8 cm

area of rect. = 48 cm²
