x÷y+4=5÷8. equation 1st
x = y-11. equation. 2nd
multiplying equation 2 by 8 and by elimination we get 3y-108=0. so y =36 putting value of y in equation 2 we get x=25
so numerator is 25 and denominator is 36

Answer:

25

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the denominator be x

Now we are given that the numerator is 11 less than the denominator,

Numerator = x-11

Fraction : \frac{x-11}{x}

Now we are given that If the denominator of a fraction is increased by 4, then the fraction becomes 5/8.

\frac{x-11}{x+4}=\frac{5}{8}

8x-88=5x+20

3x=108

x=36

Numerator = x-11 = 36-11 = 25

Hence the numerator is 25

So, option A is true .
