If the water is still and the initial velocity of the object is zero, it will remain where it is left.

If the object was in motion when we started observing it, it will continue its motion without much variance.

When the object is at rest-

It the object was left midway through the depth of water, it'll remain there; if left at the upper surface of water, it'll remain there; if left at the bottom, it'll keep there.
