Molarity = (wt/Mol.wt) x (1/ V in L)
Mol.wt of CH3OH is 32
For 0.4M= (wt/32) x (1/2.5) => wt= 32
Quantity of methanol required is 32gm.
As given solution has density of 0.8kg/L i.e 800gm of methanol is present in 1000ml. So for 32 gm we need 40ml of above solution.
