Perimeter = 28 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

  • Length of diagonal of rectangle is 10 cm.
  • Length of side of rectangle is 8 cm.

To Find:

  • What will be the perimeter of the Rectangle?

Solution: Let ABCD be a rectangle with AC as a diagonal of length of 10 cm and AB is side of 8 cm.

Since, Each angle of a rectangle is a right , we have ABC = 90°

• From right ∆ABC , by applying Pythagoras Theorem we have,

\small\implies{\sf } AB² + BC² = AC²

\small\implies{\sf } 8² + BC² = 10²

\small\implies{\sf } 64 + BC² = 100

\small\implies{\sf } BC² = 100 64

\small\implies{\sf } BC² = 36 cm²

\small\implies{\sf } BC = 36

\small\implies{\sf } BC = 6 cm.

Hence, The Breadth of the rectangle is 6 cm.

Now, We have to find the perimeter of Rectangle ABCD

Perimeter = 2 ( Length + Breadth )

\small\implies{\sf } Perimeter = 2 ( 8 + 6 )

\small\implies{\sf } Perimeter = 2(14)

\small\implies{\sf } Perimeter = 28 cm

Hence, Perimeter of Rectangle is 28 cm.
