\bf{\underline{Question:-}}

if the diagonal of a square is 16√2 cm ,then the length of each of its side

\bf{\underline{Given:-}}

  • Diagonal of square is 162 cm

\bf{\underline{Solution:-}}

Let,

  • The side of a square is a cm

  • ABC is a right angle triangle

\bf{\underline{BY\: PYTHAGORAS\: THEOREM:-}}

\bf → BC^2 = AB^2 + AC^2

\bf → (16√2)^2= a^2 + a^2

\bf → 16 × 16 × √2 × √ 2 = 2a^2

\bf→16 × 16 × 2 = 2a^2 ( 2\:and\: 2 \: cancel\:out)

\bf → 16 × 16 = a^2

\bf → a^2 = 16 × 16

\bf → a = \sqrt{16×16}

\bf → a = 16

\bf{\underline{Hence:-}}

  • The length of side of square is 16cm
