If the diagonal of a square is 16/2 cm, What is the length of the side ? *​

given the length of the diagonal of the square = 16cm

by Pythagoras theorem we get,

diagonal² = side² + side² (it can be applied only for square. here diagonal is the hypotenuse and sides are the base and perpendicular respectively)

➡ 16² = 2side²

➡ 256 = 2side²

➡ 256/2 = side²

➡ 128 = side²

➡ side = √128cm or 11.3cm (approximately)
