If the diagonal of a square is 'a'unit ,what is the diagonal of the square, whose area is double that of the first square?

If diagonal=a then side of square=a/√2

=>Area=[a/√2]^2=a^2/2

Now 2nd square area is double of 1st square area=> 2nd square area=a^2=> 2 nd square side=a ==> diagonal of 2nd area =√2*a
