in a cube all sides are equal  and all angles are 90°

so we can consider that diagonal of a cube is hyportenuse of a right angled triangle.

by pythagoras theorm

(base)²+(height)²=(hypotenuse)²

as base and height are equal

 x²+x² = (2√3)²

  2x²  = 4×3

 2x²  = 12

    x²  = 12/2

   x²  = 6

   x =√6

hence √6 is the side of the cube
