let side of square be x

the diagonal of the square is 12
by using pythagoras theorem,
a² + b² = c²
where c = 12
a = b = x

then, x² + x² = 12²
2x² = 144
x² = 144/2
x² = 72
x = √72
x = √(2×6×6)
x = 6√2

so, side of square is 6√2 cm

Answer:

62

Step-by-step explanation:

let the side AB be x

let the side AD be x

BD=12cm

by Pythagoras theorem,

(hypotenuse)²= (base)²+(height)²

(12)²= +

144=2x²

144/2=

72=

72=x

3²*2²*2= x

62=x

therefore, the side of square is 62cm.
