Area is directly proportional to square of square of the radius.

If you halve the radius(diameter), the area becomes 1/4th of original(x)

Therefore decent decrease= (x-x/4)/x × 100

= 75%

Answer:

Let diameter of the circle be d.

Radius (r) = d/2

Area of a circle = πr²

= πd²/4

when d reduce by 50%

radius becomes ( 50%of d/2 )

=( 1/2 × d/2)

= d/4

when d reduce by 50%

Area of a circle = πr²

= π(d/4)²

= (πd²)/16

Hence when diameter of a circle reduce by 50%. Then the area of that circle reduce by 1/16.
