let the probability of success be x and failure be y. We know that x+y=1

ie x-y + x+y = 4/13+1

2x=8/26+26/26

2x = 34/26

x = 17/26= probability of success

y = 9/26 = probability of failure

Check: 17/26 - 9/26

= 8/26

= 4/13
