Answer:

Let,

One angle be x

and other be y

So we know that

the sum of two supplementary angles is 180°

So we get:-

x + y = 180° ( equation 1)

and ,

According to question

x - y = 40° ( equation 2)

By adding equation 1 & 2 we get

2x = 220°

or x = 110°

So

y = 180° - 110°

y = 70°

Hence ,

x = 110° and y = 70°

Answer:

Let us take the two supplementary angles as 'x'.

Then the second angle will be x+40

So,

x+(x+40)=180

x+x+40=180

2x + 40=180

2x=180-40

2x=140

x=140/2

x=70

Then,

x+40=70+40

  • x+40=110

The two angels are 70, 110
