Let the angles be x and y

Complementary angle are those whose sum is 90°

x+y=90°

x=90°-y -------(i)

A.T.Q.

x-y=70°

Put the value of x=90°-y

x-y=70°

90°-y-y=70°

 \sf \:  - 2y = 70 - 90

 \sf \cancel{ - }2y =  \cancel{ - }20

 \sf \: y =  \frac{20}{2}  = 10

So y=10°

So, x=90°-y

x=90-70

x=20°

So, y is the bigger angle

Hope it helps you.....
