area of rectangle = l×b

if l becomes 2l

and b becomes 2b

then area = 2l×2b

or multiply 2 on both

and then multiply their area

finally the area becomes four times of the original area

example :-

if rectangle has dimensions l=2 and b=4

then l×b = 8

now double the dimensions

2×2

4×2

= 4×8= 32

intial area was 8 now its 32

(8×4= 32)

area increased by four times
