Conparing with ax^2+bx+c

a=1,b=-10,c=2k-1

Given that D=40

ie: b^2-4ac=40

(-10)^2-4(1)(2k-1)=40

100-8k+4=40

104-8k=40

-8k=40-104

-8k=-64

Multiply by (-) on both sides

8k=64

K=64/8

=8
