Hey,

Question:-

If the distance between A(0,9) and B(a,0) is 15 units then, find the value of a?

slide for best view➡️➡️➡️

Process:-

distance \: formula =  \sqrt{ {(x1 - x2)}^{2} +  {(y1 - y2)}^{2}  }

Solution:-

A(0,9) ; x1 = 0 ; y1 = a

B(a,0) ; x2 = a ; y2 = 0

Therefore,

= &gt; \sqrt{ {(x1 - x2)}^{2} +  {(y1 - y2)}^{2}  }  \\  =  &gt;   \sqrt{ {(0 - a)}^{2} +  {(a - 0)}^{2}  } </p><p> \\  =  &gt;  \sqrt{ {( - a)}^{2} +   {(a)}^{2}  }  \\  =  &gt;  \sqrt{ {a}^{2} +  {a}^{2}  }  \\  =  &gt;  \sqrt{2 {a}^{2} }  \\  =  &gt; a \sqrt{2}

Thankyou~
