if the distance between two points A(2,-3) and B(10,x) is 10.find the value of x​

Answer:

Given A(2,−3)&B(10,y)  and  AB=10

Distance between two points  (x2−x1)2+(y2−y1)2

∴10=(10−2)2+(y+3)2

Squaring both sides

⇒100=64+9+6y+y2

⇒y2+6y−27=0

⇒y(y+9)−3(y+9)=0

⇒y=−9,3
