I think the question question should be like this :

"If the distance between (x,y) and (1,2) is equal to the distance between (x,y) and (-3,4) then prove that 2x-y+5=0 "

The proof is attached above ..

Equation used :

Distance between 2 points , say (x1 y1) and (x2 y2)

=

 \sqrt{ {(x2 - x1)}^{2}  +  {(y2 - y1)}^{2} }
