if the division N/5 leaves a reminder of 1, what might be one's digit of N?

Answer:

Division of a number by 5 can only give remainder as 0,1,2,3 or 4. If the remainder is 1 this implies the number is of the form 5n+1 , where n is any integer. now put n as any integer you will notice that you will get either 1 or 6 in ones digit.

eg: n is 6 , then 5n+1 is 31. here 1

     n is 7 , then 5n+1 is 36 . here 6
