In the above question it is asked that if the edge of a cube is doubled then what will be the change in its (a)surface area and (b)volume and then here is the answer:

Earlier edge = a

New edge = 2a

(a)Earlier surface area = 6a^2

New surface area = 6(2a)^2

= 4(6a^2)

= 4(Earlier Surface Area)

Surface area will be 4 times.

(b)Earlier volume = a^3

New volume = (2a)^3

= 8(a^3)

= 8(Earlier volume)

Then, volume will be 8 times.

Hope this answer will help you.
