ionization energy is the energy that we supply to remove the electron from an atom of an element see as you know that on moving along A period the number of electrons increases but the number of shell remains same side by side protons also increases that means opposite charges are increasing and hence the attraction of nucleus towards the electrons in outermost shell increases it means we have to supply less energy to remove electrons from that atom where protons are also less and electrons are also less so this is the case with alkali metals we are only 1 electrons present in the outermost shell and only one Proton is there in nucleus
....... so it is likely to be alkali metal or it can also be alkaline earth metal but most of the chances are that it is alkali metal
