Equivalent weight of hydrogen = 1
Therefore equivalent weight of metal = 13-1 = 12
Now equivalent weight of oxygen = 8
Therefore equivalent weight of metal oxide = 12+8 = 20
Hope this helps. :)

Hey dear,

We'll assume here the metal to be monovalent.

◆ Answer-
Equivalent weight of metal oxide is = 20.

◆ Explanation-
# Given-
Equivalent weight of MH = 13
Equivalent weight of H = 1
Equivalent weight of O = 8

# Solution-
Consider a monovalent metal(M) with atomic mass x.

Equivalent weight of hydride(MH) is -
x+1 = 13
x = 13-1 = 12

Equivalent weight of oxide(MO) is given by-
x+8 = 12+8 = 20

Therefore, equivalent weight of metal oxide is 20.

Hope this helps...
