x = 3/5y ------1

x = 50/100 × (5.7-y)

x = 57/20 - y/2

3/5y + y/2 = 57/20

6/10y + 5y/10 = 57/20

11y/10= 57/20

y = 57/22

Expenditure = total income - profit

x = y - 40/100y

x = 60/100y

x = 1 × (5.7-y) - 50/100 (5.7-y)

x = (5.7-y) (1-50/100)
