Answer:

The magnifying power of a simple microscope depends on the ratio Df for a ... -1uo=14-120 ⇒-1u0=5-120=420⇒ u0=204=5 cm ... Magnification for a normal relaxed eye, m = 5

Given : The focal length of magnifier is 5cm.

To find : magnifying power of the lens for relaxed and strained eyes.

solution : magnifying power of lens for relaxed eyes = \frac{D}{f_e}

here D = 25 cm , f_e = 5 cm

then, magnifying power of lens for relaxed eyes = \frac{25cm}{5cm}=5

again, magnifying power of lens for strained eyes = \left(1+\frac{D}{f_e}\right)

= \left(1+\frac{25cm}{5cm}\right)=6

Therefore magnifying power of lens for relaxed and strained eyes are 5 and 6 respectively.

hence option (B) 5, 6 , is correct choice.
