If the focal length of the objective of a telescope is 50 cm and that of the eyepiece is 2 cm. What is the magnification?

solution : magnification of telescope , m = focal length of objective/focal length of eyepiece.

given, focal length of the objective , f_0 = 50cm

focal length of the eyepiece, f_e = 2cm

so magnification = \frac{f_0}{f_e}

= 50/2 = 25

hence, magnification of the telescope is 25
